The Ballon d’Or 2026 will take place on Monday, 26 October at the London Palladium Theatre, bringing the world’s leading footballers, coaches and club representatives together for one of the sport’s most recognised awards nights. The 2026 ceremony marks the 70th anniversary of the award and its first staging in London, with the host city chosen in recognition of inaugural winner Stanley Matthews.

Since 2024, the Ballon d’Or has been co-organised by France Football and UEFA. This year’s programme includes the Men’s and Women’s Ballon d’Or, young player, goalkeeper, coach, club and striker awards, alongside the Sócrates Award.

Lamine Yamal reaches his third nomination despite still being at the beginning of his senior career, while Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Júnior continue to feature among the most recognisable names of the current generation.

Paris Saint-Germain are also particularly well represented across the shortlist, while Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern München, Arsenal, Manchester City and other leading clubs contribute nominees. Rather than being built around one obvious storyline, the 2026 field reflects performances across domestic football, European competition and an international summer shaped by the World Cup.

The Ballon d’Or is not structured like a conventional stadium event, and access remains limited. UEFA has confirmed that ceremony hospitality packages and a very limited number of tickets will be available for the 70th edition.
